There are two types of people in this world. There are dog people, and then there are those who just don’t get it. They don’t understand the power of a wagging tail as you walk through the door after a dreadful day at the office. They don’t understand the feeling of a nightly cuddle sesh with your furry BFF. And they sure as hell don’t understand (and probably roll their eyes at) the fun and excitement of throwing your dog the most amazing and memorable birthday bash—complete with flannel onesies, delicious pupcakes, decorative balloons, and of course—a VIP guest list containing all your pup’s best buds.
On December 5th, 2015, our good friend Sumo turned 3.
And luckily, Romeo and I scored a spot on Sumo’s VIP guest list for his totally awesome pupjama party. I don’t think you understand. This was a pajama party for dogs. DOGS IN PAJAMAS!!
Which means, dogs did dog things—while wearing adorable onesies! Like sniff butts and stuff.
And play…
Oh, and SANTA was there!! (Check out Ayumi snuggled up against Santa’s leg.)
The party had a great turnout—pups and people alike. This photo actually only captures about half the group.
Somehow, throughout all the pup-madness, we managed to get Romeo and the birthday boy to pose for a photo (or 2 or 17). Treats work wonders at times like these.
All those treats must’ve made this big guy thirsty. For some reason, Romeo won’t drink out of the community water bowl. So I always have to get creative when it comes to keeping him hydrated.
Hey guys, this was fun. Let’s do it again soon!

Until next time!
Sumo’s birthday bash was held at Barkbox headquarters in NYC. Most of the pupjamas worn by the guests were made by Sumo’s momma herself! You can find her Etsy shop here.
